Day 2

Forgiveness

Pray for the power to forgive others just as God has forgiven you. Matthew 6:12

Daily Devotional

Definition: The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven; a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or a group who has harmed or hurt you, regardless of whether they deserve your mercy or pardon.

According to the Bible, forgiveness means God does not count our sins against us. It is obtained through accepting Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour and believing that He is the atoning sacrifice provided by God the Father for the salvation of humanity. Having believed and accepted Jesus Christ, God expects His children to forgive each other when wronged. (Ephesians 4:32)

Prayer focus:

  1. Thank God that you have been redeemed from the clutches of sin. Sin is no longer your slave master, according to Romans 6: 14; Romans 8:1-4

  2. Pray for the power to forgive others just as God has forgiven you. Matthew 6:12
