Definition: The state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, someone or something; a pledge or undertaking; an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.

The Bible’s depiction of commitment entails intentional participation in activities for the good of someone or something (e.g. a cause). Jesus Christ modelled commitment to His Heavenly Father by physically coming to earth to accomplish God’s will. (John 4:34; John 6:38)    

Prayer focus:

1. Thank God through our Lord Jesus Christ, who was committed to the cause of setting us free from the power of sin and death. John 10:10

2. Pray for the empowerment that enables you to remain in faith. Luke 18:8 

3. Pray for those in leadership to be committed to the Great Commission and to set a good example in their conduct and love for God. 1 Timothy 4:16
